Are we charged with taking care of our physical bodies, not out of vanity but because God said that we should?
Yes, we are be to stewards of ALL God has given us!
smaller portions, eat 5-6 small meals a day. More protein. fills you up, lots of veggies, cleans you out.

Walk , if you can, at least, until you are able to do more. Get that Bella out for a walk!
Pray and just decide to do it.
Work on one thing at a time.

Hey, I have that gene too. :-)

As for what we eat, God did give us everything to eat (see Acts) but we probably go overboard. There's nothing wrong with a piece of cake, there IS something wrong with stuffing ourselves though. We are told not to be gluttons. So, even if we are eating food that is good for us, if we eat too much it's wrong.

Have you tried vigorous exercise? Before I got pregnant I was using those Walk Away the Pounds videos and found that my appetite really subsided on it's own. I didn't even have to think about it, I just wasn't hungry. However, food is not really an addiction or anything like that for me, just an enjoyment. (I have other, more annoying addictions, I'm sure. *sigh*)

Anyway, I've been praying for you in this matter. I know how hard it is to "kick a habit."
